SME Siquijor e-Commerce Training

The training on “Website Development for Siquijor SET– UP Beneficiaries” was conducted by the Department of Science and Technology Region 7 with Cvisnet Foundation Inc. last July 20 – 21, 2010 at DOST- Provincial S & T Center , Siquijor. Mr. Jeremy A. Rivas served as the guest speaker of the said training, and was attended by SET-UP project beneficiaries such as Jaireen`s Bakeshop, P. Cortes Welding Shop, Durans, CJP Furniture, and Pajermo Furniture. Each SME has its own representative for the said event.

On the first day, the speaker explained to the SME participants on how e-Commerce websites can help their company to earn, the advantages and disadvantages and the importance of having an e-commerce website. The speaker enumerated the possible problems and solutions of e-Commerce websites that they might encounter, so the SME participants will have an idea on what they are going to do.

The speaker taught them also how to use internet marketing and several strategies on how they can market their products online. On the participant’s side, this training is new to them but they were all eager to acquire this knowledge, for it is very beneficial to their businesses.

CVISNET conducts Website Designing using Adobe Photoshop

CVISNet recently conducted a training on Website Designing using Adobe Photoshop last July 14-16, 2010 at OSCS laboratory DOST VII Compound, Cebu City. There were six participants from different sectors who attended the said training such as DMC BUSA Printers, Municipality of Malabuyoc, Municipality of Moalboal, City of Escalante, Negros Occidental and Deped Toledo City.

Since Adobe Photoshop is one of the most popular graphics editing programs today, it is widely used in website and graphics designing. The participants were taught on the basic Photoshop tools needed for their web designing and the conversion of their designs into Joomla( Content Management System) website.

Joomla eCommerce Training for Cebu SME’s

Another Joomla e-Commerce Training was conducted by CVISNet, last April 20-21, 2010 at the OSCS laboratory DOST VII Compound, Banilad, Cebu City. This is in connection with the “Establishment of an Online Market Support System for SET-UP Projects in Central Visayas”, a project of DOST VII.

It was participated by the following Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in Cebu: Habagat Outdoor Equipment, Bon-Ace Fashion Tools, Inc., Suki Trading Corporation, Wellmade Motors, Arden Classic Inc., Chilen Chicharon, James & James Furniture, Titays Rosquillos.

The participants were taught how to make and maintain their own website using Joomla a popular content management system.

Building websites with Joomla! CMS

Last June 2-4, 2010 CVISNet conducted training for Website Development using Joomla (CMS). Joomla is an award winning content management system which is used in building websites and powerful online applications. It is easy-of-use and extensibility are some of the reasons why is Joomla is a popular website software. Since it is Content Management System software it requires almost no technical skills to manage the website.

The said training was participated from different Local Government Units and government agencies such as Municipality of Balaman, Municipality of Boljoon, Municipality of Moalboal, Toledo City, Department of Agrarian Reform Region 7 and the Department of Education Cebu City Division.
