
LGU Maria and Barangays Boost e-Governance with BeST Training
CVISNET Foundation, Inc., in partnership with DOST Siquijor and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maria,
Siquijor, successfully conducted a Barangay e-System and Tools (BeST) training program from August 12 to
14, 2025. The three-day training brought together representatives from all 22 barangays and the LGU of
Maria, focusing on enhancing their skills in utilizing the BeST system.
The program kicked off with welcome remarks from Hon. Roselyn T. Asok, Mayor of Maria, and an opening
message from Ms. Macbeth Dal, OIC of DOST Siquijor PSTO. CVISNET Executive Director, Mr. Jeffrey N.
Llanto, provided an overview of the BeST system, emphasizing the importance of data gathering.
Day 1 focused on BeST equipment familiarization, hands-on training, and encoding, led by CVISNET
personnel. Day 2 continued with hands-on training, covering website management, basic troubleshooting,
backups, and the LGU Residence Information System (LRIS). On the final day, participants showcased their
barangay outputs, and the training concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony and the turnover of
BeST kiosks.
This successful training demonstrated the significance of the BeST program, highlighting the commitment
of local governments to transforming LGUs into Smart communities.
