Hosted by the Department of Science and Technology Region 7 (DOST-7), a Smart Tech X (Smart Technology Exchange) event was held on August 15, 2025, which focused on initiatives under the Smart and Sustainable Communities Program. The program aims to promote collaborative opportunities with Local Government Units (LGUs) and explore innovative technologies that support inclusive and future- ready communities

A separate meeting after the Smart Tech X event was held to discuss the Innovation Hub (iHub) Central Visayas, which seeks to empower local communities through science, technology, and innovation. This hub is part of the DOST's efforts to create future-ready communities, aligning with the Smart and Sustainable Communities Program's initiatives.

By fostering collaborations and integrating innovative technologies, the program aims to drive transformative change and create a better future for the communities it serves.
